Research Group created in 2000 and integrated in Campus of International Excellence into Cluster of Biomedicine and Health in 2009.

Food has started to be a public debate issue in developed societies. Despite the virtual absence of problems associated with the lack of food, the concern about what people eat has increased. For this reason, the Social Sciences have approached to food and its changes related to the modernization of societies. The main aim of this group is to describe and to analyze the food change trends and the social conditions to which food habits are subjected in modern societies. Research must analyze carefully how modernization process on societies affects population's food.
